About Green Spaces

Lancaster District Green Spaces supports volunteers who are maintaining, protecting, and developing green spaces across the District. We work in parks, gardens and playgrounds, small community spaces and larger woods, orchards and wilder land, wherever local people are making a difference.

We aim to
Raise the profile of these green spaces via our map
Share knowledge, equipment and volunteers
Support and mentor new groups

We do this via a quarterly Lancaster District Green Spaces Forum, open to groups and interested parties and by liaising with the Local Authority on common issues.

Lancaster Green Spaces is a Registered Charity, using the working title Lancaster District Green Spaces as we have extended the area we operate across to the whole of the District within the authority of Lancaster City Council.

Our Trustees are Abi Mills (Chair), Tim Newton and Zoe Munby (Secretary); supported by non-Trustee officers Peter Fielding (Treasurer) and Hilary Smith (Newsletter). We meet as and when is necessary. Previous Trustee minutes can be found here. The last Annual Accounts can be found here.
